Within 48 hours of my mother's passing, I found myself sitting on a balcony thinking about how fast time passes. When you stop and reflect on life, it hits hard. You think about family, growing up, the people you've lost, and the path that brought you to where you are today. For me, that included somehow finding my way into the magazine publishing industry more than 20 years ago.

I got my start working with the startup 944 Magazine in Tempe, Arizona in 2002. Since then, I've witnessed one of the biggest transformations in media history as publishing evolved from print to digital.

As the internet grew and devices like the iPhone and iPad changed how people consumed content, magazines suddenly had the potential to reach audiences around the world. At the same time, Google, Facebook, and social media platforms transformed advertising, and print publishers watched revenue steadily decline.

But something interesting happened. As digital became the dominant way to consume content, people began to realize there was no replacing the physical world. The internet offered unlimited reach, but high-quality print magazines still carried a sense of legitimacy and permanence. They meant something. They became collectible.

After spending more than a decade publishing No.3 Magazine in New York, a large-format publication focused on art, design, and culture, everything came to a halt during COVID. Like many people, I found myself asking, "What's next?"

"It was a reminder that print wasn't dead. It was simply evolving."

Before the pandemic, I would often stop by my favorite magazine news stand in SoHo. The shelves stretched from floor to ceiling, filled with publications from around the world. Some were beautifully designed works of art in their own right.

I also thought back to when I first arrived in New York in 2008. Everywhere I looked on the subway, people were reading magazines on their iPads. Eventually, smartphones became the primary device for digital content, and the way people interacted with media continued to change.

Then came QR codes and new ways to connect physical and digital experiences. Suddenly, a printed image, a piece of artwork, a fashion spread, or even a mural on the side of a building could become a gateway, with a scan of a mobile device, to something more. A simple scan could unlock video, audio, information, experiences, and deeper engagement. The possibilities felt endless.

GeN3 Media is the result of everything I've learned over the last two decades in publishing. The goal isn't to replace print or compete with digital. It's to bring them together.

GeN3 Magazine is designed to combine the collectability and prestige of a high-end publication with interactive experiences that create real engagement. Views, likes, and followers matter, but they're only part of the story. The real opportunity is creating meaningful connections between content, creators, brands, and audiences.

That's what GeN3 is about. Our goal is to help pioneer a new approach to media through immersive storytelling, live events, and next-generation publishing. We want to attract and work with talented creators and bring engaging content to Miami while telling the stories shaping the city's culture.

GeN3 connects media, digital experiences, live events, and creative talent into a single ecosystem.

Miami is home to GeN3. Technology is advancing faster than ever, and the city has become an international destination for artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and innovators. It's an exciting time to build something new and be part of that journey.
